Liechtenstein Symphony Orchestra will host the ICMA Gala in 2021

Last Wednesday, in the Town Hall of Vaduz, in presence of mayor Ewald Ospelt, Dr. Ernst Walch, president of the Liechtenstein Symphony Orchestra and president Rémy Franck signed the contract for the organization of the Award Ceremony and Gala Concert which will take place in April, 2021 in Vaduz.

The president of the Liechtenstein Symphony Orchestra, Dr. Ernst Walch, says: « The Liechtenstein Symphony Orchestra is proud to be able to organize the Award Ceremony in 2021, following the close co-operation which the International Music Academy of Liechtenstein has already since several years with the jury of the ICMA for the Discovery Award. Our orchestra and ICMA share common values particularly in the area of the promotion of young musicians. Thanks to ICMA we can speed up our efforts in this direction. »

ICMA president Rémy Franck says: « We are very glad to have the Liechtenstein Symphony Orchestra as partner for our event. The Principality of Liechtenstein has been in our focus since years, because many musicians who studied at the International Music Academy of Liechtenstein have been distinguished by our jury. With the Academy director and Intendant of the Orchestra, , we share the opinion that only excellency can bear really magnificent musical experiences. »

The Liechtenstein Symphony Orchestra was created in 1988 and celebrates this year its 30th anniversary. Comprising approximately eighty musicians, the Orchestra is active in Liechtenstein, but also beyond the borders as a cultural ambassador of the country. To boost the international visibility, it was restructured in 2012 from a non-permanent orchestra to a fully professional ensemble.
